News Flash--   Please join us on June 8 at American River College and walk or run a 5k course with friends, family members, and our four legged friends. Ryley’s Run in Sacramento will benefit Homeward Bound and other local rescue making a difference in abandoned and abused dogs lives. Ryley’s Run began as a fundraiser for one dog, Ryley, found in Florida. He was nursed back to health and adopted out to a wonderful family, and his spirit is the inspiration behind Ryley’s Run. Ryley's story is no different than some of the abandoned and abused dogs that Homeward Bound helps each year.   Nia has also been adopted and we are told she underwent corrective orthopedic surgery as well.  We are waiting to hear the final outcome.

Holiday Wish List: 1)  Creatures of Heart Sanctuary is looking for a modular or mobile home that is in good repair, free of leaks, with working plumbing, electricity, heating and air to convert to our on-site medical/isolation/intensive care treatment facility.  If you or someone you know has a temporary office building or a mobile home that is newer than 1976 that you no longer need, our critters would be oh-so-grateful.  The in-kind donation would be tax deductible.    2)  We are also ongoingly in need of able-bodied volunteers to assist Kurt in building shelter structures for our goats and horses, as well as completing our chicken run and our outdoor aviary.  Donations of time or materials would be appreciated in any increments.  We especially need concrete, telephone poles and railroad ties.  If you would like to help, contact Kurt at 916-709-8657.

Reminder:  Horse rescue from the Premarin ranches in Canada still need your help.  There are a number of draft and percheron mares that need to be placed--their time was extended from November.  Please go to www.theanimalifarm.com.
